Allen Salmasi

Chairman & CEO

  • Mr. Salmasi previously served as Chairman and CEO of NextWave Wireless Inc., a company he had formed in 2005 that was subsequently acquired by AT&T in 2013. Prior to that, he had founded NextWave Telecom Inc., which was acquired by Verizon Wireless in 2005. The total acquisition price paid for NextWave Telecom and NextWave Wireless assets in separate transactions was in excess of $10 billion. Mr. Salmasi serves as a member of the board of directors of KICC.
  • Prior to NextWave, Mr. Salmasi was a member of the Board of Directors, President of the Wireless Communications Division, and Chief Strategic Officer of QUALCOMM Inc. He initiated and led the development of the wireless business at QUALCOMM in 1988. Prior to QUALCOMM, at Omninet Corporation, a company he founded in 1984 and served as its Chairman of the Board and CEO, he envisioned and led the development of the OmniTRACS system and service, the world's first and currently the largest commercial terrestrial mobile satellite communications service. From 1979 to 1984, Mr. Salmasi was employed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
  • Mr. Salmasi received two B.S. degrees with honors in Electrical Engineering and Management Economics from Purdue University in 1977. He also received two M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1979 and in Applied Mathematics from the University of Southern California (“USC”) in 1983. He completed his doctoral coursework at USC towards a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering.

Janice Smith

General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer

  • Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Smith worked at Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (“OSG”) as Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer, and Head of Government Affairs where she was responsible for developing the framework used by OSG for identifying, evaluating and mitigating business risks. Mrs. Smith also created and managed the company’s capital allocation committee with oversight of over $2 billion of strategic projects. She was also responsible for directing the efforts of the OSG Political Action Committee and supervising activities of outside lobbyists.
  • Prior to OSG, Ms. Smith was a partner at Proskauer Rose, LLP where her practice focused on representing public and private company and private equity fund clients in all aspects of corporate transactional activities. Ms. Smith earned her juris doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law where she was a member of the Environmental Law Review and a bachelor of business administration degree from Iona College. Ms. Smith has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in the area of Corporate Finance.

Svetlana Ni

SVP Business Development

  • Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Ni was an Associate at Goldman Sachs, in the healthcare investment banking group, where she worked on a number of strategic transactions ranging from financings to M&A with a focus on medtech and biotech. Before joining Goldman, Ms. Ni worked at Westbrook Partners, a real estate private equity firm based in New York.
  • Ms. Ni received an MBA from Harvard Business School. She holds a BS from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
